Light beer launch

A tiny Hingham company is rolling out Edison Light Beer locally this month, said brand cofounder Rhonda Kallman. After spending much of her career at Boston Beer Co., the maker of Samuel Adams, Kallman launched New Century Brewing, dealing only in light beer, which accounts for nearly half of US beer sales. The recipe for Edison was formulated by light-beer pioneer Joseph Owades, and the beer is made by a contract brewer, Kallman said. A six-pack should cost $5.99 to $6.29.
